Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2026-05-25T22:12Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2
GOES: CCOR-1
Activity ID: 2026-05-25T22:12:00-CME-001 (version 2)
Note Keyword:
3P: 3-part structure CME
Ha: Bright emission (likely H-alpha emission)
HAL: Halo CME
OFL: Outflowing material at the back of the CME
PRM: Prominence material (filamentary structures)
SEP: Solar Energetic Particle event
Source Signature Keyword:
FIL: Filament eruption
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
EUVW: EUV Wave
Morphology Keyword:
FS: Flux Rope and Shock Candidate
Note: Fast, halo CME first seen to the NW by SOHO LASCO C2 beginning at 2026-05-25T22:12Z, as well as by SOHO LASCO C3, STEREO A COR2 and GOES CCOR-1 in later frames. The source of this event is likely a far sided flare seen by the Solar orbiter STIX instrument peaking at approx. 2026-05-25T22:04Z with an estimated peak of M7.3 (potential range of [M4.0,X1.4]). Filament ejecta can also be seen in association with this eruption beyond the NW limb in SDO AIA and GOES SUVI 304 beginning at approx. 2026-05-25T21:57Z, along with wide opening field lines and EUV wave observed in SDO AIA 171, 193 and GOES SUVI 284. This event is also associated with solar energetic particle enhancements at SOHO, GOES and STEREO Ahead.

Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type

There is a higher level of uncertainty with this analysis due to limited triangulation ability as well as the unique shape of the CME front. This analysis tracks the furthest out portion of the shock (the "nose") of the CME and includes most of the shock that is more in the ecliptic plane, however this measurement also includes unavoidable empty/dead space due to the overall shape of the shock front and the restrictions of the SWPC_CAT measuring tool. 1: Result 1 (2.0 AU)

CME Analysis M2M_CATALOG SH false SWPC_CAT 145.0 27.0 1671.0 O 43.0 2026-05-26T00:16Z Shock front analysis with SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and GOES CCOR-1. STEREO A COR2 not available due to a data gap. The shock front is notably irregular shaped, with a northern lobe and southern feature observed as a wide partial halo. This fit tracks the majority of the observed shock front prioritizing the northern lobe in similarity to the bulk leading edge directionality. Longitude of W145 used as the approximate source of former AR 14436; the likely source for this CME without direct observation, and as such longitude could vary between W135-W155. 1: Result 1 (2.0 AU)
